I have stayed at a variety of hotels in Gatlinburg over the years. Initially, our first love was Bearskin Lodge, however there always seemed to be an issue with parking. Nevertheless, we loved it. However, since the fire, the price has skyrocketed [like so many other hotels], and it simply priced us out. Our historical price was $88 plus tax and now it's around $300 during the same time of year. Venturing on, we stayed at River Terrace. Unfortunately, i'm a smoker, but even with that said, i couldn't stand the smoky smell from past cigarettes in the room and literally sprayed febreeze all over the carpet and also left the balcony door open for fresh air to sleep by. [Fortunately, there were no bears]. Continuing on, we stayed at Edgewater for a number of years despite the low parking garage ceiling, which still creeps me out. Until we discovered Jack Huffs. We've never looked back since then. Glad you found some good stays! Thanks for the list
Hey, thanks for your thoughts, Beth! I think you're right. Prices for hotels have gone up and made it difficult for us. We are grateful a condo owner reached out to us 5 years ago about his place. It's our preferred accommodations, and it helped us save some money. By the way, I hate old cigarette smells too. I can tolerate freshly lit ones, but as I've gotten older, I'm a bit more sensitive to them. I appreciate you reading! Let me know when you get that voucher!🙂
My parents stayed at Zoders way back in the 60s and I remember my Mom going into the creek and rearranging rocks for better flow. My husband and I took our son there in the 80s, and since then we have stayed there numerous times and love it every time. So relaxing. It is our go to everytime we go to Gatlinburg.

Will do! Just booked our trip. Unfortunately we're staying in PF, but we couldn't pass up $76 a night on halloween!
We can relate lol! Did the same thing a few years ago when we went for a few days after Christmas.

Sounds like you have so many great memories of this place! So nice of you to share. It'll always be special to us too. Thanks you so much for reading!
