I’ve lived here for over 8 months, and have visited Gatlinburg dozens of times, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t places I haven’t visited. In fact, there are still a handful of eateries right here on the main drag I’ve never walked into. It is my every intention to visit each and every one, even if it goes against everything I think about a few that cater specifically to the tourist population, receiving mostly mediocre reviews. I at least owe it to myself, as open-minded as I am, not to be so closed minded about a few of these. Without further adieu, here is my list without a check mark, as of April 2024.
Dicks Last Resort is way overpriced, food is just basic blah, and if I wanted sarcastic comments made to me I’d stay home with my teenagers heck of a lot cheaper and the food is better, even the sarcastic comments are better, actually it’s more rude than sarcastic and very much crossing the line
We stopped at the Mountain Edge Grill on a whim one evening when we weren't too hungry. Tennessee Jed's was closed so we decided to try this and ended up eating a hot dog and fries. We were very pleasantly surprised and intend to go back for a light meal. I recommend it!!
Forget Bubba Gump's when you have so many other great choices that aren't franchises.
