The Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in downtown Gatlinburg would like to invite you to an event where you can sip and savor many superb wines from regional wineries here in Tennessee. I wouldn’t say the Volunteer state immediately comes to mind when you think of wine, but it’s actually a hotbed that has led to many successful wineries and vineyards sprouting up all over. From small mom and pop’s to large ones, there is quite the unique blend you have to see and taste to believe.
On March 8th from 12-5, Arrowmont is hosting the Smoky Mountain Wine Fest. This is a behind-the-scenes type of experience where you not only can sip on some fantastic wines, but also watch some of the fine creative artists go to work on their craft.
You’ll enjoy pairings from regional wineries and some delicious options from some of the best restaurants in Gatlinburg. More entertainment will be provided in the form of the musical artists who play as part of the Smoky Mountain Tunes and Tales seasonal festivals on the streets of this tourist town. As an added bonus, you can browse and purchase work created by the artists of Arrowmont.
Wine tastings will highlight 15 different local and regional wineries. The even cooler part? You can meet and talk to the makers to learn more about their craft. The wineries slated to appear at Smoky Mountain Wine Fest are:
Mountain Valley Winery - Pigeon Forge
Apple Barn Winery - Sevierville
Apple Barn Hard Cider Company - Sevierville
Hillside Winery - Sevierville
Old Mountain Winery - Gatlinburg
Smokin Banjo Winery - Gatlinburg
Tennessee Cider Company - Gatlinburg
Tennessee Homemade Wines - Gatlinburg/Sevierville
Paris Winery - Cookeville
Shine Wine - Pigeon Forge
Beans Creek Winery - Manchester
XXX Cider Company - Sevierville
A quick research of just a few of these beverage companies will give you an idea of what’s in store when it comes to some outside-the-box, unique offerings. That much is surely true!
Tickets can be found here. There are 3 options: VIP, regular admission, and designated driver. The VIP includes chauffeur service from the Courtyard Marriott on Airport Road for the tour on Friday the 7th at 3 which includes stops at 4 different wineries in Gatlinburg (there’s also an opening for the 6th at 3 P.M).
Does this sound like a good time? If the answer is yes, we’ll see you there. Get your tickets before they’re no more.
