Our Ohio Family Christmases: 2024 Edition
For the second year in a row, we traveled back to Ohio to spend the weekend at my parents’ home for Christmas. While there, we did the necessary things that we hold near and dear to our hearts. It’s not worth much more than the three days we spent with family. That’s really the extend of our feelings for where we used to call home. If you’ve followed with me through most of this journey, you’ll have a pretty good idea of what I mean. I don’t need to rehash most of it. If you’re new here, I encourage you to peruse my early posts for a little background. But for now, here is a little summary of our family Christmas gatherings.
We left Gatlinburg before the sun came up on Thursday December 19. It was a smooth trip back to Lima, Ohio that took a little over six and a half hours. As I’ve discussed in previous passages, it doesn’t get any easier making these drives, so anything remotely considered smooth is a relief and blessing. Since we had many stops on our list for the weekend, we decided to cross off a few before getting settled at my parents’ modest digs.
