We are fast approaching six whole months living in Gatlinburg—half a year of the good life. As I’ve written about in recent posts, nothing is certain, and nothing is certainly ALL good. I want to make it clear that I am happy and adjusting just fine to life here in Gatlinburg. Has it been perfect? No. But does it make us happy, and does it give our life purpose? Absolutely! To be honest, I can’t imagine a better life and place for us. I wouldn’t expect anything to be perfect, and I think that’s important to anyone who thinks that way about living here. Let me explain while reviewing our sixth month here in Gatlinburg.
It was an expected, uneventful start to the month. As I briefly alluded to in my last month’s report, we all had our hours slashed. That wasn’t breaking news for us. What was unquestionably surprising is what kicked off our fractional earnings.
I was excited to finally get a new phone, and since I had my birthday off from work, we went to Verizon. Okay, I knew I needed a new one, but I had no idea how necessary it was until I started using it and taking pictures. It was night and day. Good photos took less effort (they looked better, anyway). I guess when you multiply the megapixels, you’re going to see results. But it was immediately put to the test the next day…
