In celebration of National Moonshine Day, Ole Smoky Moonshine will be having a FREE event for all ages on June 1. The festivities will kick off at 5 p.m. with a live DJ, followed by performances by Julia Cole and Canaan Smith at 120 Historic Nature Trail, which is across the road from The Gatlinburg Space Needle.
After a successful first run last year at their Nashville location, it’s nice to see Ole Smoky going back to where it all started in downtown Gatlinburg. The 2022 event had live music, games, and cocktails, not unlike what’s going to feature the celebration at this year’s iteration.
Of course it wouldn’t be right if there weren’t drinks at Shine Fest. You can dive into some of their favorite summer cocktails, which include Front Porch Punch and Summer Shine, to name a few.
They are also giving away some spectacular prizes that can be won by entering your email and personal details here. Here’s what you can win with each.
Grand Prize
A trip to Nashville, which entails a fantastic Music City + Ole Smoky experience.

Music
If you’re not familiar with the artists at this year’s Ole Smoky Shine Fest, here’s a short bio of the two performers.
Julia Cole is a rising female country music singer marked by last year’s debut on the famed Grand Ole Opry stage. She has sang the anthem at many professional sporting events, garnering plenty of attention for her rendition. This led to a recording contract and the release of her self-titled debut in 2021. Recently, she is getting airplay for her newest single, “Cowboy Off,” and also by amassing 200 million streams of her songs. There’s much optimism regarding how far she can go with her career, so you won’t want to miss out on her singing!
Canaan Smith is the headliner for Ole Smoky Moonshine’s Shine Fest in Gatlinburg. After moving to Nashville in 2009, he initially became known as a songwriter for the hit song “Runaway” for Love and Theft. It wasn’t until 2014 when he released his own hit song as a recording artist, “Love You Like That.” Receiving tons of radio airplay, it achieved platinum status. Canaan continues to be in the country class with his newest album, High Country Sound, which is a fantastic representation of his desire to make the music he wanted. No doubt you will hear some of this material in Gatlinburg on June 1!
I am happy to discover this event for personal reasons. It just happens to be when we’ll be there, so I plan to cover and write a recap of this event for you when we return to Ohio. We always enjoy moonshine tasting in Gatlinburg. I know it’s not everybody’s cup of tea…or moonshine, but it’s part of the whole vibe of this area we love. You can do hiking, shopping, kids activities, enjoy great food, and so much more. Thanks for reading, and you know how thankful I would be if you subscribed to my work! See you next time!
We will be there!!! Sounds like a great time.
