Ober Mountain Fall Festival Begins September 29th

Ober Mountain would like to invite you and your family for a month-long celebration of music, food, and fun. Just so everyone knows, Anakeesta also began theirs on September 9th, but you can certainly fit both in your itinerary. Fall is festive in Gatlinburg for many reasons, and in my opinion, these are the best ones out of all the seasons. Anytime food is involved, that’s a winner. Combine it with live music, games and some eccentric entertainers, there’s no denying the fun. Here’s what’s in store for Ober Mountain’s event.
The celebration kicks off on September 29th with the Heart tribute band, Heart Breaker thumping out their classic tunes from 7-9 that night. This is part of the Full Moon Concert Series, which will wrap up the festival on October 28th with the Aerosmith tribute band, Pandora’s Box, closing it up and keeping the dream alive.
Different hay-themed activities will be spread out at Ober Mountain, including a hay maze, track, and mountain. The mountain is sure to be fun, as you can enjoy a slide down on it with the kids. The track will be used for getting on a bicycle and navigating the course. And finally, the maze will excite those who enjoy solving a puzzle in order to get out.

Of course, no fall festival is complete without food and drink. Enjoy traditional German favorites such as Schnitzel Sandwich, brats, pretzels, beer cheese, and seasonal favorites like Pumpkin Spice Fudge, Pumpkin Juice, and much more promised. Enjoy international and local beers from Yee Haw Brewing Company, Spaten, and Hofbrau, just to name a few.
Another daily event to undertake will be a Skate Party, equipped with lights and a ringside DJ at the ice rink that has the potential to remind some Gen X-ers of their younger days at the roller rink—at least, maybe a little.
Movie Nights will be held on Friday evenings between 7 and 9. October 9th will feature Hocus Pocus appearing on the 22 foot LED digital screen. Classic Horror fans will appreciate Friday the 13th on the 16th. Next week, the animated Hotel Transylvania will hit the large screen, and lastly, the classic comedy musical, Rocky Horror Picture Show, is sure to entertain all age groups.
Finally, you won’t want to miss the Giant Pumpkin Festival from October 20-22. When I say giant, I mean half-ton pumpkins getting meticulously carved.
If you enjoy the fall and spooky season that winds it all down, I feel this would be a cool event to experience. As far as I know, all the ticket prices will be the same: $29 for just the tram ride up and down; $49 for the tram/activity wristband that includes all the activities on the mountain. See you there!
