I think I’m finally beginning to understand where people are coming from when they lament the changes that have been happening in Gatlinburg for decades. I used to sigh every time I saw a comment that mentioned how they longed for the tourist town to maintain a certain authenticity they knew from another time. I regret my reaction to it, but honestly, it’s how I felt because I was blinded by the allure and didn’t want to see any negativity in a place that gave me so much reason for living.
