There’s so much to love about living in Gatlinburg. Some of you who dream of living here, I can certainly relate. It didn’t seem possible until the puzzle was visualized. The pieces started fitting, and we put it together. So what do I really love most about living in Gatlinburg? It’s not as easy to explain as you may think.
There are echoes of dissonance. Yeah, just wait until you live here long enough; you’ll finally see things our way. Our way? So what are you trying to say? This kind of tribalism is prevalent in society today and only divides us even more. Call it what you want, but this… us vs. them mentality isn’t getting us anywhere. Fortunately, most of this I’ve avoided, but I can still sense it. I certainly won’t lose sleep over such nonsense.
I love Gatlinburg. Yes, I still do. The same things irritate me here the same way they did when we were tourists. If you want to know what those are, I wrote a post about things NOT to do in Gatlinburg a few months ago. Not a whole lot has surprised me here. Nine years of researching and dreaming give you a pretty good idea of what to expect living in a tourist town.
