Introducing...Blooms & Tunes at Anakeesta: A Celebration of Spring in the Smokies
If you know one thing about me as it relates to this publication, it might be my love for the Anakeesta attraction in Gatlinburg. And this weekend (April 14) begins their annual Blooms & Tunes celebration, which is a way of welcoming not only their extended hours, but the bigger crowds that come with the warmer weather.
Workers at the popular tourist adventure park have been prepping for the following events, which will be seen and heard daily until the end of May: spring-themed artwork, live music and entertainment in various forms, seasonal menu items at Cliff Top Restaurant, and without question, beautiful displays of blooms surrounded by lush landscaping. In addition, sunsets will sooth guests with sparkling light displays throughout each section of the park.
The artistry of Blooms & Tunes will be exhibited before you even enter. They let a local company, Brainchild Creative, take the reins for the tasteful decoration of Anakeesta. A twenty-feet-long blooming daisy, colorful flower sculptures, and an oversized paint palette with 10-feet-high paint brushes are just a few of the highlights.
A wide spectrum of live entertainment will fill the spectacle that is Anakeesta. If classic Bluegrass tunes are your thing…check. If you like guitar strumming and drum playing…check. Get moving and rocking to all musicians that will grace the Black Bear Village stage!
A new addition to the entertainment, will be the colorful nature of performers roaming the park. A magical fairy and wisecracking gardeners are a few harbingers of the unique overall excitement filling the air. The Spring calendar can be found in the link here.
Last but not least are the seasonal food options at Anakeesta. Cliff Top Restaurant is an excellent place to get some food, and you might be surprised at how serious they take quality, with chef-inspired entrees fit for any casual or high-end eatery. If you want to get your drink on, enjoy cocktails fit for Spring, or get suggestions on pairings for their wine list. Based on last year’s menu, the Kale and Almond Salad and Miso Salmon are two of a kind that are worth trying if they are a repeat inclusion on the Spring 2023 menu.
Still on the fence about Anakeesta? Well, I hope Springtime is your cue to shoo up the mountain for the blooms and tunes and a dazzling array of colors that will imbue the park. See you there!
