If you’ve already visited Anakeesta in the last month, you may have indulged in the Hot Chocolate Crawl, which began with their Enchanted Christmas event on November 11th. The chocolate beverage is a perfect treat to keep you and your family warm while enjoying the sights this amazing attraction provides during the winter—and throughout the year. If you have a trip planned for Gatlinburg before the end of the calendar year (which I’m sure many of you do), then this is a perfect reason to satisfy your sweet tooth at one of the tourist town’s most popular attractions. There are four fantastic flavors to fancy here.
Turtle Sundae fans rejoice! The Smoked Pecan is a hot chocolate drink infused with caramel, house-smoked pecans, turtle candies, and of course, whipped cream. Booze it up with Sugarlands’ Butter Pecan Sippin’ Cream, only if you wish, but I highly recommend all of Sugarlands’ dairy-based beverages. This can be found at Anakeesta’s Smokehouse restaurant.
Next is the Peanut Butter Surrender. Don’t worry, this doesn’t mean surrendering your love of peanut butter and chocolate. Reese’s Pieces are placed in hot chocolate, along with a Reese Cup, chocolate drizzle and whipped cream. Yes, you can also alcohol it up with Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey. So…maybe ask for a Skrewball Surrender, and I think your tender at Clifftop will understand.

For coffee lovers, the Italian Hot Chocolate drink will likely lift your energy levels. You’ll find inside a chocolate-dipped biscotti, chocolate-coated coffee beans, and whipped cream. Wander over to Kephart Cafe to secure this creamy caffeinated concoction.
And last but certainly not least is the Mint from the Garden hot chocolate. With this, you can pretend the condensation from your mouth is a result of this cool crafty beverage. In here you’ll get crushed Andes Mints, chocolate shavings, whipped cream, and actual fresh mint to top it off. If you are ada-mint about tasting it, head to the Watering Can, whether you’re hot or cold.
I haven’t been up to trying these yet, but all accounts have been positive. These aren’t the same water-based hot chocolates you can get at home; they are creamy goodness full of delicious flavors in each one. What’s even more awesome is the fact you can keep the mugs as souvenirs! I suggest you warm up the body and the taste buds by heading up to the award-winning Anakeesta adventure park to explore a whole new treat!
