Gatlinburg's Festival of Trees Will Celebrate 50 Years

A lesser-known tradition in Gatlinburg has been the Festival of Trees, which is celebrating 50 years of the Christmas staple from November 22nd to the 26th. Another 50-year institution, Citizens National Bank, will be serving as the main sponsor for the event being held at the W.L. Mills Convention Center.
Proceeds will benefit the following organizations: The Boys & Girls Club of the Smoky Mountains, and the Gatlinburg Chamber of Commerce Foundation. The former has 1,600 youths who have a safe place to learn and help build character, which will prove invaluable to them as they grow into adults. Even though admission is free to the Festival of Trees, your donation will help both of these groups serve kids and local businesses.
As far as the festival itself, you’ll find many lovely holiday trees, of course, but in addition, there will be a kids play area and Santa Claus himself, who will be listening to all the young ones tell him their list of gifts they want for Christmas.
The Festival of Trees will be open to the public at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22nd and last until 7 each evening through the 25th. The 26th will wrap up the event at 5 in the afternoon. Santa will be available on the days of the 24th and 25th from 10:30-2:30. If you want to help, you can sign up to be a volunteer by emailing Amelia@hospitalitysolutions.net.
