Gatlinburg Restaurants Open for Christmas in 2024
It’s that time of year when people want to know what restaurants in Gatlinburg are open for Christmas. My mindset is mixed. I have sympathy for those who have to work the holiday, but I know some who look forward to making the extra money. Still, it’s business as usual for the following list of businesses that carry on. Many, if not all, are all part of a restaurant group that typically welcome guests on Santa’s big day, but you won’t find any mom and pop places on this listing. A vast majority of them give their employees a much deserved day off. If you’ll be in town during what we locals call this time, Hell Week, here are the places that will be open on December 25.
Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.
Hours: 12-8
The tourist-driven, seafood-focused restaurant that exists as an homage to the movie, Forrest Gump, and Tom Hanks’ character when he becomes a shrimp boat captain, is open on Christmas Day in Gatlinburg.
Calhoun’s
Hours: 11-9:30
The self-congratulatory “Best Ribs in America” Gatlinburg location will be open on Christmas Day, as well as the other Copper Cellar Family of Restaurants I will mention in Gatlinburg. We find it easy coming to this establishment when the desire hits us.
Crawdaddy’s
Hours: 11-9
The Kennedy Concepts restaurant family will also be open on Christmas Day. Crawdaddy’s is one, and they provide a little Louisiana feel to Gatlinburg with their Cajun-themed establishment. They serve boiled, broiled, fried, grilled, and raw varieties as part of their menu.
Crockett’s Breakfast Camp
Hours: 7-1
The breakfast restaurant in the Burg, known for their literal platters of food will be open regular hours on Christmas Day. You’ll more than likely be good until dinner—or longer—after a meal at Crockett’s Breakfast Camp.
Cherokee Grill
Hours: 11-9:30
Copper Cellar is once again represented here in their Cherokee Grill concept. The Prosperity Steak is hard to beat, and this always ranks among the best special occasion restaurants in Gatlinburg. You’ll definitely want to make a reservation if you want a seat at the table on Christmas Day.
Chesapeake’s
Hours: 11-9:30
The seafood version of the Copper Cellar Family is also open on Christmas. Chesapeake’s made a seafood-lover out of me, and it is a viable option for your family if you’re here for the holidays. Again, reservations are a must!
Jason Aldean’s Kitchen & Rooftop Bar
Hours: 2-?
The touristy restaurant with a menu approved by country musician, Jason Aldean, is also open for business on the 25th. They have a rooftop bar and middle kitchen dining area. An elevator is an option here if steps are in issue.
Loco Burro
Hours: 11-9
The Tex-Mex-themed Gatlinburg restaurant, part of the Kennedy Concepts group, will have their doors open on Christmas Day. Known for their margaritas, and table-side guacamole, Loco Burro Fresh Mex Cantina also delights guests with their rooftop bar.
No Way Jose’s
Hours: 12-6
Located next to the Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies is another Mexican food Gatlinburg staple, No Way Jose’s. They have a good variety of the cuisine, plus offer seating in a separate area before you walk into the restaurant, for those of legal drinking age only.
Pizza Rio
Hours: 12-9
The newest addition to the Gatlinburg family of restaurants is one that started in Pigeon Forge—Pizza-Rio. They serve pizza to your table—the Brazilian way—and offer ingredients true to their unique and tasteful cuisine. Hand-crafted cocktails and margaritas can also be enjoyed here on Christmas.
Puckers Sports Bar & Grill
Hours: 11-?
Puckers Sports Bar and Grill is now open and welcoming guests on Christmas Day. It is a much more welcome place now—my opinion—and I am happy they are back open in virtually the same location, but in a brand new building,
Smith & Son Corner Kitchen
Hours: 2-10
Smith & Son Corner Kitchen is another downtown Gatlinburg restaurant open for Christmas. They offer a good mix of Southern staples and standard classics that are sure to please anyone visiting, even the picky eaters.
Smoky Mountain Brewery
Hours: 11-10
Smoky Mountain Brewery is probably my second favorite hangout restaurant in Gatlinburg, and, as always, they are open once again for Christmas. I’ve never had a bad meal here, and I’ve been a customer many times. So if you’re looking for a delicious meal without breaking the bank, this is your place.
If you’ll be here during the Christmas and New Year’s holiday, please keep in mind the crowds. You will most certainly have waits, as this is the busiest week of the entire year in Gatlinburg. Yes, it is crazy, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the festive atmosphere that is just brimming with excitement and fervor. Hope you all have fun, and once again, thank you so much for reading, subscribing, and following all of my platforms. I appreciate the support!
