Getting going on this snippet writing head on. Again, most of these will be free for all subscribers—unless it gets a little too personal. And yes, this one does at the end. But, yeah, I’m doing some short life snippets of my time here in Gatlinburg that will serve as a journal of sorts. The monthly recaps I love doing, but I feel it’s important to jot things down while it’s still fresh in mind. Keeping it short, sweet, and to the point is the purpose, so let’s summarize my last 2 days.

Friday is shipment day at work, and that means early rising at 5:30 to arrive at work by 7. Just because I get up early often doesn’t make me a morning person. I don’t hesitate to sleep past 8 some days, but I draw the line at 9.

It was a relief not seeing an extra pallet at the front of the store; in fact, it was quite a manageable stack. I usually come in with an opening manager, doing the bulk of the work before the next mid-shift, or morning co-worker comes in—usually 9, 10, or 11, but sometimes none at all. The entire lot was done before lunch, which is very good, especially since it has taken all day with some.
