We moved to Gatlinburg on August 7th, so our first time back to Ohio on December 14th brought back familiar family comforts, but was it everything we hoped it would be? Of course seeing our parents for the first time in four months was a welcome sight. And being back in Ohio wasn’t really that strange considering the relatively short period of time. But still, none of my immediate family—including myself—had ever spent more than a week out of our home state. Here’s what I can say about our 3 day stay.
As I mentioned, we arrived back at my parents house—our home base for the weekend—on Thursday the 14th. Not much had changed, thankfully. My mom takes my dad to dialysis three times a week, and thankfully, she will be fully retired at the end of the year…so she says. Even though she’s not immune to her own health problems, she is in significantly better shape than my dad. I guess when you’re pushing 70, you would truly be blessed to not have ANY troubles physically.
