The euphoria of the weekend fades away as the reality of leaving Gatlinburg sinks in before first light. This is the point where the dreaded drive reverberates through my body in the form of heart-pounding anxiety. Once I know we’re packed and ready, I just want to be in the comforts of home. If I could snap my fingers and transport us back to Ohio without the worry of a hiccup along the way, I would welcome it. But there would be one last Gatlinburg meal before tackling the task at hand.
