Batter Up! Gatlinburg Pancake Week Will Pan Out Soon With a Sweet Contest

A Gatlinburg food staple will be spotlighted the week of February 26 - March 4. Of course I’m talking about the pancake. There are no less than six pancake houses in Gatlinburg, and they will all be featured in the official Gatlinburg Tourism Bureau’s social media pages during that week.

Pancakes, flapjacks, hotcakes, crepes, or whatever you wish to call them go all the way back to 1960, when the Pancake Pantry began to identify itself with the town and entire area. Since then, it’s one of a few things people think first when they visit this East Tennessee mecca.

Here is a list of the participants of Pancake Week: Log Cabin Pancake House, Crockett’s Breakfast Camp, Flapjack’s Pancake Cabin, Little House of Pancakes, Shoney’s, and last but not least, Pancake Pantry.

I don’t know specific details, but the official Gatlinburg page will have daily prizes available that week you can win by sharing your stacked pancake photos from these places with the hashtag #Gatlinburgpancakeweek on all the major social media platforms: Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

What would be super awesome is if each restaurant offered a specialty stack not offered on the regular menu, just like some of the lunch and dinner places do with sandwiches during Gatlinburger Week. Either way, it would be advantageous to be here and visit for the chance to win some of the unannounced prizes they will be doling out.

It’s tempting to throw away my avoidance of pancakes to order me a stack (to share, of course) just for the chance to win. We will be here for the first two days, and I know we have plans to eat at Little House of Pancakes of Monday of that week. My wife only orders the buttermilk short stack, but sometimes these plain cakes can be just as sweet to look at in pictures. That might be all they get from us, but hey, we can say we participated, at least.
