A Special Season for Deals, Discounts, and More in Gatlinburg
The slow season brings a surprising lot of specials for attractions and restaurants in Gatlinburg. Locals and tourists alike can breathe a sigh of relief as the crowds become much lighter, and more importantly is the fact your bank account won’t take a big hit from a visit. I’m going to give you some the current deals that are available, and I think some of you might consider taking advantage of these if you plan to be here soon.
Johnson Family of Restaurant Discounts
Quite likely our favorite group of restaurants to visit in Gatlinburg, the Johnson Family of Restaurants has traditionally offered these deals at the beginning of the year; we saved tons the last time we visited in January. While they used to last longer than a couple weeks, if you’re lucky enough to be here between January 16 and February 3, you’ll get the benefit of buy one, get one free lunch and/or dinner entrees. Not all restaurants offer this exact deal, but whatever their variation, it’s an excellent way to save money on your January trip. Also, they close all their locations on Wednesday, so keep that in mind if you’re coming in the middle of the week.
Anakeesta
This next deal at Anakeesta might be the best one yet. If you are a resident of Tennessee, all you have to do is purchase a single day pass, redeem it in person at Anakeesta prior to February 26, and you’ll receive all the benefits of an annual pass. They include 20% of all merchandise, food, and adventure add-ons, plus no extra cost for the new Astra Lumina light show. Unfortunately, this won’t work for us, since we are still Ohio residents, but I would highly advise Tennesseans to take full advantage of this awesome deal! NOTE: Anakeesta is only open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during January and February, but that should not stop you from enjoying the sheer wonder of this beautiful attraction.
Hotels
Your home base for a Gatlinburg trip is usually at least half of your planned expenditures, and a winter trip will ensure you spend less than expected. I don’t have any specific deals because all hotels will charge much less than a daily rate during busy seasons; in fact, it’s not uncommon for rates to be under $100 a night at many hotels in the area. So if you want to be frugal on your vacation, January and February are prime months to get a better value for your accommodations.
Planning is everything when it comes to your vacation, and my hope is that I can provide a little bit of that for you. Obviously you wouldn’t want to rely on me exclusively for your visit, but maybe you have a better plan of action because of these posts.
