A Poem for All of Us This Season
I hope everyone is having a happy holiday weekend. I am feeling the spirit of the season, so I felt compelled to write a quick poem that only briefly mentions Gatlinburg. You’ll have to excuse my attempt at poetry. I am not a poet, so please take it easy on me. I think we could all use some perspective this time of year, and this is something I wish for all of us moving forward in life. Because all we really should be striving for is a little togetherness.
Some of us are engaged in prayer
Some of us just don’t go there.
Some of us do a lot of giving
Some of us are just happy to be living.
Some of us are blessed with a lot
Some of us are good with what we got.
Some of us are living the dream
Some of us are skipping the dream.
Some of us have tons of power
Some of us are timid and cower.
Some of us want tons of presents
Some of us need more love from parents
Some of us are smitten with Christmas spirit
Some of us don’t want to hear it.
Some of us sing and dance
Some of us sit on our hands.
Some of us want to climb a mountain
Some of us want to stare at The Village fountain.
Let’s All get along
Because there’s nothing wrong
With where we All belong.
Thanks for subscribing to my Publication. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or however you celebrate this time of year. And once again, don’t beat me up too bad if you find my attempt at poetry a little cheesy.
