January 8th is my birthday. I share it with a couple of famous musicians and a highly renowned physicist, among many other non-famous individuals. The well-known ones are Elvis Presley, David Bowie, and Stephen Hawking—all of whom have passed. Why is this important? It’s not. I won’t ever reach their level of stardom, notoriety, or accomplishments, and that is quite alright with me.
I am lucky enough to be living here in Gatlinburg, and when it’s your birthday, you feel even more special. My wife, son, and I all didn’t originally have this day off, but when a set of events fell into place for us, it was a perfect opportunity to come together for a day of errands, surprises, and a birthday dinner at a restaurant we had been wanting to visit since they opened back in 2016. Now—let’s see if my memory can help me put into words the events of the day…:)
