Normally, Easter is just another day in my life. But the 2025 version proved to be quite memorable for a variety of reasons. You see, we don’t do much on Easter Sunday. We’re not very religious people, but that doesn’t mean we’re atheistic and don’t believe in a higher power. I guess you could say we don’t subscribe to any specific religion, despite the fact I was baptized as Catholic, and my wife’s mother was also more likely to go to church on the holy day. This Easter was all about making the most of my life and I’m going to explain the reasons.

There were two highly publicized Easter Sunday services at two popular attractions in Gatlinburg, but I could only do one. Ober Mountain has been holding this event for many years, but more recently, the Gatlinburg Skypark has been expanding and working on their own. And since I had never been to the top of Crockett Mountain for the newest development of one of the oldest thrill rides in the Smokies, this was an easy choice for me.
