My wife recently had a birthday, and we had reservations for Cherokee Grill in Gatlinburg—one of our favorites. However, the Copper Cellar restaurant hasn’t always been on their game. Last year, my wife was disappointed with the overall experience and food, so with her, they were on a short leash. My birthday dinner from there, which my son treated me with earlier this year, was absolutely fantastic, aside from the complimentary rosemary-seasoned bread—dry and not fresh. So this was my first visit since January, and my wife’s first this year. Since I didn’t actually tease the title, I’ll recap the visit and the events leading up to it in this post.
Our days off haven’t really been meshing recently, so we decided to make reservations for 5:30 on Sunday after my day of work—she was off. As it turned out, I chose to leave work early when asked, so I had time to walk down to Cherokee Grill to add notes you’re unable to make online to your time booking. The hostess was extremely nice and professional, and she went the extra mile in telling me what their specials were, and made sure we would get out booth by the window. Good start.
