Most of you already know that April did not get off to a good start—the understatement of the year from me. Life in Gatlinburg was put on hold to tend to traumatic family matters, as we laid my dad to rest. That chapter ended, and once we returned to Gatlinburg, the process of starting a new one began. It certainly hasn’t been easy, but what has and what will materialize as we soldier through spring, should give us a renewed promise. Before we talk about the present and future, I’m going to focus on the past… at least the last 30 days anyway.

The month of April—as far as Gatlinburg life is concerned—didn’t really commence until the second week. Lots of rain fell. And even though it was a welcome rain, I think my mood stayed stagnant, but never below content. There’s nothing to be depressed about in Gatlinburg. I will always maintain this. No time should be spent and wasted on negative emotions and thoughts. If you’re waiting for this former tourist to change his mind, you might want to find another hobby or spend your energy on something worthwhile, because this ain’t the way. Please find your why… for your own good.

Now… let’s recap!
