We’re now closer to the two year mark, as another month flies by us. Well, this winter has hardly flown by, but I’ve already talked about that in last month’s episode. With spring and the annual turning of the clock ahead an hour in front of us, there’s no better time to be filled with anticipation for warmer weather, longer days, and increased crowds in Gatlinburg.

While it’s nice to look ahead, every day should be embraced, and we’re doing our best to accomplish this once rare feat. I hope some of you will hop along for the ride, as I talk about how we sought to do that during the 28 days of February.

Even more so than January, businesses in Gatlinburg during February, one by one, took some time off to do so much needed maintenance, improvements, or even a vacation to catch their breath—the latter a likelier move by small businesses with little or no staff beyond family.

Coffee and Company took a few days off; Smoky Mountain Brewery Gatlinburg took 2 weeks off; Boudicca’s Celtic Pub closed for almost a week, and so on. It’s the nature of things here. But if you’re visiting and your favorite place is closed, just see it as an opportunity to try something new. You probably won’t be disappointed.
