One month shy of a whole year in Gatlinburg. It’s amazing to think a year ago at this time we were prepping for our business trip to open accounts at our bank. I remember the anticipation, excitement, and anxiety all rolled up into a ball that made it the best kind of stress. All of our other ambitions to move to Tennessee were met with road blocks and harsh realities I certainly struggled to accept for about nine years.
Fast forward to the present day as we are firmly entrenched in the lifestyle of being in a tourist town, where there is always something going on. That will be the theme of a new Knox News story that will be featured in one of their upcoming Sunday editions. The reason I know this is because I was asked to do an interview from the Storyteller Reporter at the newspaper. I couldn’t resist. Even though the attention is nice, I don’t seek it out, and that’s my modus operandi when I visit a restaurant. While I’ll accept an invite (extremely rare), I never ask. I want it to be an authentic experience, and that includes paying for my own meal.
